Black Friday Value Rig

The Premise

Before Christmas there is a certain day that in the United States that drives Computer hardware freaks wild. The day is known as “Black Friday”. As the first official shopping day before Christmas, it is well known in the tech world as a day of fantastic deals. Even through there is no real significance to the day itself in Canada, the deals for computer hardware are still hyped “bigtime”. I decided to put together a system I'd been putting off for some time. This machine is going to be comprised of parts entirely bought on their Black Friday, “Super Deal” prices.

The Budget for the machine was a max of $400 CAD. There is no need for an OS, as I have legitimate Windows XP Pro piled in my closet. There is no monitor, keyboard, mouse, or speakers required. What we were looking at is a tower and hardware to make it sing. I was hoping to run most modern games while keeping the budget intact. So as a list we need:

-HDD

-Video card

-Optical drive
