Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System
Package & Contents
To go along with my new sound card I purchased a new set of speakers, as my existing set are a bit on the crap side. I decided to go with the Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker system.
So I took a trip to the local computer shop and grabbed them. The box itself is quite compact:

The contents are stuffed in rather tight but are safe enough from moving.

As you can see it comes with the sub woofer, a horizontal center speaker, two rear satellites, and two front speakers. One of the first things I noticed is that the cables for the rear speakers weren't very long. For my layout it's not a big deal, but for some it could be problematic.

As for the Sub woofer, the base you can see shows off what pushes through the 'massive bass', and the rear shows the colour coordinated connections.

Included is a little wired remote with a power button, volume control dial, array button, and headphone jack.

The central speaker has an adjustable base allowing it to clamp onto an LCD monitor which is really convenient as you can see it doesn't block the screen, and easily allows you to centrally mount the speaker. You are also able to have it sit horizontally but I didn't find it as easy to locate centrally.

The side speakers and the rear speakers can be mounted in both standing position while they sit on your desk, or you can unscrew the base turn it around and hang the speakers on the wall. It's hard to describe, so you can just take a look below.

Another small little thing I wasn't too impressed about was the cables running from the sub woofer, to the sound card weren't colour coordinated. They were all just black. For folks like me it poses another challenge. It's small but it's something. I'm not sure if this was just mine or not, as I see other reviews that show coloured cables. Take that how you will
